Steve Stanczyk and his wife Nina live in Mission, BC, where he was born and raised, graduating from high school there as a recipient of scholarships, the Artist of the Year award and honors standing. He has studied Art History and Visual Arts courses at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC and the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC. He has also studied Design, receiving a diploma in Digital Art and Design from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC in 2002.
Steve has worked as an artist for over ten years, successfully completing numerous painting, mural, graphic design and photography commissions. He has designed and painted several large–scale murals for cities, businesses and organizations, working in collaboration with other artists, designers and business owners.
Stanczyk has exhibited his artwork in galleries in Vancouver, BC, the Lower Mainland and New York City and completed art and design projects for two Juno Award winning musicians. He has been interviewed on CBC Radio regarding his artwork displayed in the HEROS exhibition in Vancouver in 2010 and he has had the privilege of presenting his artwork to the Prime Minister of Canada and Members of Parliament.
Steve has donated artworks and murals to organizations and municipalities and has had the opportunity to raise finances through his art for various ministries such as Iris Ministries. Over the years, his graphic design, artwork and murals have been published in newspapers and magazines, including the Canadian Museums Association magazine Muse and CMYK magazine, New York.
Steve has worked as a teacher of Art and Art History for adults and youth in the Saturday Program at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, The Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford, BC, Worship Arts Painting Classes in Abbotsford, BC and recently Digital Arts for Gateways Learning Center in Abbotsford, BC.
